Membership Types

There are three classes of membership in the NWDA.

(1) Regular Members

Any individual who is a paid law enforcement, military, full-time security canine handler, Civilian Police canine trainer or canine administrator, any other paid working dog handler or anyone who has served in one of these capacities shall be eligible for regular membership. Dues are $35.00 annually. (All Military Handlers, Trainers and Kennel Masters on Active Duty receive free membership in 2008)

(2) Associate Members

Individuals who do not meet the requirements for regular membership, but who are involved in the improvement of canine work, are eligible to apply for associate membership. The application shall be evaluated and decided upon by the Board of Directors, whose decision to approve or reject the applicant shall be final. An associate member shall enjoy the privileges of the association, except that an associate member shall not be entitled to vote or to hold office, and may only attend and participate in Association workshops upon application to and approval by the Board of Directors. Dues are $35.00 annually

(3) Corporate Members

Any business or person that wishes to promote and assist the NWDA. Corporate members may not vote or hold office. Corporate members will receive advertisement in NWDA publications. Dues are $100.00 annually.
